Chocolate Extravaganza!

I am the tasting room manager for a winery in Missouri. The Chamber of Commerce decided to boost tourism for the month of February by having a Chocolate Extravaganza. At the end of the month, the wineries were asked to pair a chocolate dessert with wine. A friend had given me the Chocolate from the Cake Mix Doctor for Christmas (I collect cookbooks), so I looked through it for ideas. It’s funny to see the picture of the Triple Decker Chocolate Raspberry Cake with Chocolate Ganache on the website, because that is the cake I chose to make. I paired the cake with a dry red wine. Wow!! I received so many compliments on the dessert and the pairing, and had so many requests for the recipe. I had Anne’s book on display with the dessert, and many patrons wrote down the name of the book and author and seemed most anxious to buy their own cookbook. They were amazed when I told them that the cake started with a cake mix. Oh, and by the way, purchasing the Chambord Raspberry Liquor was well worth it.
