| I have a box of orange supreme cake mix on hand. What are some of your favorite desserts, muffins etc. to bake with this flavor. Any ideas? |

I have used the orange cake mix to make a margarita cake. Or, you could probably take one of the lemon cake recipes and substitute the orange cake mix and then sub orange juice or orange extract for the lemon juice. _________________ When life gives you lemons, make grape juice. thanks jen,
I tried the orange poppyseed cake from the April 2004 newsletter. Instead of the 1/4 cup of sherry I added and extra 1/4 cup of oj to make 3/4 cup total. I also still have a bunch of frozen fresh cranberries so I coarsely chopped them (still frozen) and folded them into the batter. I divided the batter between an 8x8 inch square pan and an 8x4inch loaf. Unfortunately I think the cranberries added too much moisture to the cake (or do you think it was that I baked them at only 335F?) the loaf was a big mess, I had to toss it. The square cake looks better but moister than I would like, kind of gummy. Luckily my husband liked it and will eat it for breakfast! Oh well maybe I will not be so heavy handed with frozen cranberries. Live and learn!

| I wonder if dried cranberries would work better than fresh. Orange and cranberry go together so well, sounds really good. |

Dried cranberries are a good idea. I will try this recipe again with them, it looks like a good one. I think I now understand why many recipes for fresh cranberry bread and muffins don't have much fat or other moisture in them.
thanks,
