Not sure I can help you this one as I am not familiar with Sweetex. Is it an alternative sweetner?

| I've never used Sweetex before, but from the different websites I read, it can keep for a looooooong time before going rancid. I'd use the same test that's used for shortening: throw it out when it changes color or smell. |
