How do you tell the difference in your pan sizes? 10 cup or 12 cup? I just received a new pan and it states on the sticker that it is a 10 cup. I filled with water and to the top it was 10 cups. Surely this is not how you would measure it. Goofy question but I need to know.

Hi Nancy: I believe, that is how they are rated, but then of course you can't put 10 cups of batter in the pan, so I know, it never made sense to me either that they would use that way of showing size. I have a bundt which holds 14 cups of water, but I really don't remember how it was rated, I have had it so long. I used it for the majority of my bundt cakes.
