Hi Everyone!

My name is Toni and quite simply, I love to bake! I didn't come from a family of bakers but I am starting my own traditions now. It seems like I have been baking so much recently that my family is telling me to stop! Imagine that! So now, I bake it and send to everyone's place of employment so they can enjoy it.

My favorite cake, hands down, is the Strawberry Cake. I get lots of requests for that and will even be baking one tomorrow for my daughter.

I look forward to learning from you seasoned baking veterans!

Welcome! You can get The Cake Mix Doctor, Chocolate from the Cake Mix Doctor, or pretty soon Cupcakes: From the Cake Mix Doctor at any of your local bookstores (Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc.,) or online (Amazon.com, etc.,). At the top of the page you can also click on the link "Buy the Book" for some other options. Get your copy soon and join the cult...I mean club :D . You'll be cake addicted before you know it!

I have been a long time reader of the boards but finally registered to be able to post. I am a 30 year old reference librarian in Arlington, TX. I have been married almost 7 years, and my husband and I are both working on advanced graduate degrees. I love baking, it helps me relieve stress!

My favorite CMD recipes:

1. Devil's food (but I ice it with the cooked fudge frosting)
2. Lethal peppermint (people are always impressed--if you make a little extra of the peppermint buttercream, it makes nice accent for decorating the cake)
3. Cookies and Cream cake
4. Buttermilk Brownies (don't know the exact name, but has buttermilk and chocolate chips?)

I also bake from scratch fairly often--my favorite recipes
1. chocolate pound cake
2. tunnel of fudge cake (adpated from pillsbury bake-off--I know there is a cake mix version, but I like this one because the tunnel forms from the batter rather then pudding or whatever
3. Red Velvet cake (also a tricky one for some reason--prefer scratch to cake mix version)

I am Mary. I have been a member for more than a year,I think. I am a 70 year old widow who likes to cook. My favorite cake is the cake made with melted ice cream. There are so many possibilities. I enjoy reading various topics, and I am quick to throw in my two cents worth.

the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Who knew you could add all those yummy ingredients to a yellow cake mix? I even substituted the water for some burbon. It was a great hit at the office! I am also a big fan of the Bacardi rum cake!

Hello everyone, my name is Kathy, I'm 50 yrs old, happily single :D (divorced for 19 yrs), have a 23 year old son who still lives with me. I'm an Account Executive for an insurance agency, personal lines/ home & auto insurance, have been doing this for almost 30 years! I also waitress for a family owned, Italian restaurant. :) My passion has always been in the food industry. Why I didn't pursue it as a full time career when I was younger, I don't know! I love to bake! :D I love my kitchen and I love my appliances! :D :D My sister says I need to get a life; thinks its ridiculous on how much I spend on my appliances! :D I don't care, though, it brings me great joy!! I've been known to dabble a bit in "on the side, catering and baking". Started slowly by people asking me to buy my Christmas cookies, or cooking for their parties and, lo and behold, "Sweet Servings, Etc...." was created! I only wish I pursued this 20 years ago when I was younger!! I'm so glad to have found this site! :D

Favorite Cakes:

Almond Cream Cheese Pound Cake
Kathy's Cinnamon Coffee Cake
Better Than ? Cake
Darn Good Chocolate Cake
Carrott Cake
