Hi All,

Since it is officially December I thought it was time to start a holiday cookie thread. The older members on this board will remember that I used to be extremely cookie phobic which I am happy to report is no longer the case. Unfortunately now that I am actually into cookies I am not in a setting to host and/or initiate a cookie exchange :( but it is something I would really like to do one day. Anyway...

Food Network's 12 Days of Cookies has begun again but I am unimpressed with the offerings thus far as I was last year. I liked it better when they had people submit recipes for consideration; then the daily cookies were a lot more inventive. AllRecipes' Cookie Countdown has also begun and I am hopeful I'll get one or two good recipes from that lot.

Well, in the spirit of the holidays, let's get baking! Use this thread to post and discuss all the holiday cookies you are making or planning to make to share with friends/family (or leave out for Santa  !).

I make jam thumbprint cookies every year (the recipe from the old red and white checked Betty Crocker cookbook. They were my mom's favorite christmas cookie. I am thinking of putting a chocolate ganache in some this year...just can't go too long without chocolate!

My mom used to make those jam cookies every year; I loved them. Also brown-edged wafers - those were my favorite.

The spritz recipe is good too! That old cookbook is a real treasure. From the CMD I think the perfect holiday confection are the coconut snowballs.
