Does Sweetex go bad?

Not sure I can help you this one as I am not familiar with Sweetex. Is it an alternative sweetner?

It is a high ratio shortening.

I've never used Sweetex before, but from the different websites I read, it can keep for a looooooong time before going rancid. I'd use the same test that's used for shortening: throw it out when it changes color or smell.

Kelly, I keep Sweetex on hand for 6 months or longer in my cake shops.
I buy lots of 50 pound cubes, so I don't run out. You can call the company name and number on the boxes if you have any questions.
