Why did it take me so long to discover these? I started with the maple one in CMDR, with a twist that Anne helped me figure out -- including real maple syrup. It was to. die. for. I've made the chocolate one from CCMD, a lemon version, and the almond one from the original CMD. That's going to become my next wedding cake, as well. I made a couple of test runs, and the bride's mom and sister helped me decide that the recipe really needed a bigger almond punch, so we doubled the almond extract. I'm baking the groom's cake today and the wedding cake next Saturday, and decorating everything the following Friday for the rehearsal that night and the wedding the next day. Fun, fun, fun!

Oh, yes. This *is* a good recipe. With the newer books, I'd forgotten about some of the original classics. I might have to make this soon.

Well at least you have discovered them now . The Almond Cream Cheese Pound Cake remains my favorite CMD recipe to date for its simpleness and flavor. Plus I always preferred the Butter Recipe Golden mixes.
