Last year at Christmas time I made something similar to the popular 7-layer bars, only instead of graham crackers you used chocolate cake mix. They were a big hit and I want to make them again and now I cant find the recipe. I was just sure it was in one of my CMD books but I looked in the cookies and bars sections and couldn't find it. Am I overlooking it or did I get this recipe somewehre else? Help!

I don't know if one of Anne's books has a similar recipe but here's one called "Magic Cake Bars" and describes them as "similar to the magic cookie bars or seven layer bars that many of us have made for years."

That's it!!!! Thank you so much. Everyone just love the ones I made last year. They liked that it had a chocolate crust. The cake mix crust seems to hold together better than the graham crackers and you don't have to crush all those crackers! My husband will be glad that I can make them for the church's Christmas dinner.
