I have used this new BC Natural Vanilla Cake Mix twice and liked it. I was wondering if anyone else has tried it. The last cake I made was the Lemon Lovers White Chocolate Cake. I added extra extract and alot of extra lemon juice - and it was not that lemony. I was wondering if that was because the BC Natural Vanilla cake mix has such a strong vanilla flavor. However, the cake was great. I used a buttercream with added lemon extract, lemon zest and lemon juice covered with a layer of raspberry filing. Yum Yum.

Louise, I just bought that mix and several other new Betty Crocker mixes. I was thinking of using the Natural Vanilla cake paired with a raspberry jam filling and then frosting it with that Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting that everyone has been raving about. However, your suggestion of using it for the Lemon Lover's White Chocolate Cake sounds wonderful. Thanks for the suggestion.

I really liked this cake mix when I used it to make the Fresh Orange Cake this past weekend. I also used orange curd in the middle and frosted with orange buttercream. I loved it and it was really delicious in my opinion.

Another flavor to look for! Thanks for the alert, Louise. And on another post Jessica mentioned a DH coconut - will have to try that one too. Marsha, I'm glad to hear this works well for the Fresh Orange cake. I've been using French Vanilla a lot in place of yellow. Will be interesting to see how the two vanillas differ.

The mix has the little flexs from the vanilla bean. I have only used it in doctored mixes so I do not know what the cake would taste if baked per directions.

I agree with you Jessica, that artificial vanilla taste is nasty, but with this cake mix, I thought it was more naturally flavored, like you might have added a little extra good vanilla extract. I thought it paired well with the Fresh Orange Cake and will use it frequently, probably more than the regular white. I have also tried the Coconut Cake and it was nice, with just an essence of Coconut flavor added. I didn't add any additional coconut extract when I made it, so it worked well in the cake I baked.

P.S. I was questioned by the DH as to why there were black specks in the cake, but he didn't hesitate to eat it either.
