I need to make candied carrots for my cousin tomorrow

Traditional - no straying

Do you know that I've never had candied carrots nor made them? If anyone has a recipe handy that would be swell... otherwise I'll just look one up. No biggie.

You have a PM, Catherine! I can't vouch for the recipe, but it is a recipe nonetheless!

Catherine,
I found this one that sounded a little more traditional....

EASY CANDIED CARROTS

This one may have more common ingredients, that your Mom may have on hand!

Oh Catherine, I wish I could get hold of my sister. She makes the very best, and for some reason, I really don't cook carrots well like others do. All I can remember of what she told me though was, to lay those carrots in a baking dish and sprinkle brown sugar and butter over them and everyone, even non carrot eaters love them. Sorry, I'm not a bit of help. :(

she's always so good at that, isn't she?

well the carrots got pawned off on my dad since I still needed to change clothes and put on makeup...

but we used the recipe that had the honey in it..

they came out good.... my cousin ate a HUGE plateful (nothing else mind you..) but she loved the carrots which is all I needed... thanks Diane... appreciate the help

Catherine,
I'm glad I could help! I had never made them before, so I just kept googling and looking my myriad of cookbooks. It sure does help knowing that the folks on the board have our backs, doesn't it?
