Got this book as a gift and was surprised to find this recipe for Key Lime Pie. It is the recipe that we always made when I was growing up - and I grew up in Florida! The only difference is instead of using key lime juice, we used a small can of Minute Maid Limeade juice. It is either 6 or 8 oz (the smallest size, there are 2 sizes). It is in the freezer case with the frozen juices in the grocery store. Sometimes it can be hard to find. And we always added a few drops of green food coloring to get a nice lime green color (makes it more fun for us kids I think). I had not thought about this recipe for a long time - I may just have to make myself a pie...

Toni, could you please post this recipe? My husband loves key lime pie. Thanks. Patricia

I have found bottled key lime juice in the grocery stores here in St.Louis, MO lately. I first made a key lime pie when we were in Florida for a meeting that my husband had in Clearwater Beach. We stayed in our travel trailer,(28 ft.)and I like to entertain, so we had some of the other couples come over for dinner, and I served key lime pie for dessert. I got the recipe from the bottle of key lime juice. It called for a can of sweetened condenced milk (like EagleBrand or others), and had a merangue (sp?) on top. The pie was in a graham cracker crust, and only the merangue had to be browned. I have another pie that is similar and is called lemonade pie, which called for frozen lemonade and condensed milk and cool whip. Very easy and I will post the recipe if anyone would like. MaryCan

I don't think I've seen key lime juice in the stores (although, I suppose I have not looked). Come to think of it, I haven't even seen the bottled lime juice that used to be right next to the bottled lemon juice in the produce section lately.

Thanks for the review, though! It was good.

I am interested in the recipe. Unfortunately, we cannot post copyrighted material on the site. You can, however, PM interested people the recipe. Can you find a link to the recipe online? We could post that. What's the brand of key lime juice you used?

I received the question about the brand name for the key lime juice, and I am leaving town for a week and a half, so I will post again when I get home.

I'm home from my trip and will answer questions about brand name and company who put out bottled Key Lime Juice. I also will give anyone who wants it, the recipe that is similar to the lemonade pie that I make that is easy and quick
