Hi everyone,

With this new bulletin board format, I thought it would be a nice time for us all to introduce ourselves. Maybe say a word or two about who we are and then list our top 5 favorite Cake Mix Doctor cakes/desserts.

I'll go first. :)

I am 33 and I am a stay at home mom. I have been happily married for 3 years. I have a 18 month old daughter. I love to cook and especially to bake. I live in New England.

My Favorite Cake Mix Doctor desserts are (in order):

1. Honeybun Cake
2. Hornets Nest Cake
3. Pina Colada Cake
4. Snickerdoodle Cake
5. Strawberry Cake with Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting

But I have to admit, there are still a ton of cakes I want to try, so my list above is certainly subject to change. I am looking forward to deciding which cakes to try next based on reviews I read on this BB!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Julie. I am (gasp) 40 years old, married, with 2 sons ages 4 and 2! I am in Sales/Account specialist for a chemical company.

I live in North County San Diego in a city called Vista.

My favorite cakes tend to change also, but I can list a few that I think I will always love. These are in no particular order!

1. Grandma's Coconut Icebox Cake (even though we in So. Cal are deprived of unsweetened frozen coconut!)
2. Honeybun Cake
3. Amaretto Cake
4. Pistachio Chocolate Cake
5. Better than ? Chocolate Cake
6. Basic Yellow Butter Cake with Chocolate Frosting!
7. Pumpkin Spice Cake

I could go on and on! But, I had better get back to work!

Julie

Hi, I am the technical genius who can't figure out if she's logged on or not. I am 49 and still impersonating a grown-up. I've been married for 17 years, we have a son and daughter whom we homeschool, and though I'm at home now, I did teach college writing courses for 26 years. I've published many short stories (mostly in literary quarterlies) and just finished my first novel (about Jewish witches in New Orleans). I'm about to start research on the second. My favorite cakes are:
1. German Chocolate
2. Strawberry with Strawbeery CC Frosting
3. Lethal Peppermint
4. Fresh Orange
5. Chocolate Orange
6. Chocolate Macaroon Ring

I'm a 36 year old married mother of 3 sometimes angelic, sometimes devilish girls. I'm a salesperson for a plastics company. I love to bake, but my hips hate the results!

My 5 favorite cakes (so far) are:

1 Chocolate covered cherry cake - my husband's favorite!

2. Mocha Brownie cheesecake - super rich!

3. Snickerdoodle cake - baked this for my cinnamon-loving sister's bridal shower.

4. Lemon Lover's white chocolate cake - perfect for Easter or any special occasion.

5. German chocolate cream cheese pound cake - my mother's usual birthday request.

I love this board - I get so many great ideas here! :D

I'm 46, married to a great guy and have 3 wonderful kids. I also have 2 grandchildren and one on the way in March. I'm one of the few people (I think) who's not crazy about chocolate but I love my CMD book and all your suggestions.

My favorites so far:
1. Caramel Cake
2. Milk Chocolate Pound Cake
3. Banana Cake with Quick Caramel Frosting
4. Blueberry Muffin Cake
5. Old Fashioned Pear and Ginger Cake

Hi all :) ,

I'm 24 (probably the baby on this board) and single (men, can't live with them, can't live with them!!!) with no kids. As someone said to me recently I'm just a grasshopper trying to hop my way through the world...

Anyway, I like to bake (I find it to be therapeutic) and I have one favorite CMD cake which is the Almond Cream Cheese Pound Cake. I have made a lot of CMD recipes but the cakes I've tried haven't been the popular ones so I don't have a collection of cakes I truly love. I do love to share and trade recipes so if you have any good ones you want to pass along I'm always interested. :D

Hi everyone -
My name is Barbara, BarbaraMc on the board. I have three grown children who turned out to be contributing members of society (shock!) and now four grandchildren. I started out as a R.E. appraiser at the bank, became chief appraiser, and have transitioned to reviewing commercial appraisals at home. I belong to the assistance league and love working "retail" in the thrift shop!

Off the top of my head, five favorite cakes are:
1. Fresh Orange Cake with orange curd filling
2. Lemon Lime Cake with pineapple filling
3. Pumpkin Pie Crumble
4. Upside Down Bananas Foster
5. Chocolate Cake with peppermint frosting

Next month, it will be five others! I love this board!

Hi everybody! My name is Debbie and I live in St. Louis, Missouri. I am 42 years old and have been married for 23 years. We have no human children but we have three 4-legged babies including a dog named Clancy that is 4 years old, who is my walking and running partner; a 14-year old cat named Kelsey, and an 11-year old cat named Jake. I work full-time as a Paralegal for a private law firm in Downtown St. Louis. I love to bake - especially on weekends because it is so therapeutic and rewarding to create something that pleases people that can be made in a relatively short span of time. I am really into fitness - have to be so I can taste all these wonderful baked goods - I take Kickboxing Classes at my local YMCA, do strength-training, pilates & yoga tapes and I try to walk/run with my dog most days of the week.

I previously posted my Top Ten Favorites several years ago under the Testify Section of this Website. However, like most people, my favorites change weekly because I am always being inspired by this board to try something I would never have considered until I read a wonderful review on it. Right now some of my favorites are:

1. Banana Cake made in a Bundt Pan with Brown Sugar
Caramel Glaze.
2. Chocolate Covered Cherry Cake.
3. Chocolate Pistashio Cake.
4. Marsha's Lively Lemon Cake (my office voted this
their favorite so far)
5. Dark Chocolate Sheet Cake a/k/a Chocolate Sour
Cream Cake good with any frosting but especially
delicious with the Orange Cream Cheese Frosting.
6. White Chocolate Pound Cake with Ricotta and
Orange or made with Fresh Lime Juice.
7. Lemon Lover's White Chocolate Cake.
8. Marbled Cream Cheese Kahlua Brownies.
9. Blueberry Muffin Cake. (Another office favorite)
10. Fresh Orange Cake made in layers with Orange
Marmalade and Fresh Orange Cream Cheese
Frosting..
I have been visiting this site for over 2 years now and I still find it exciting to check every day to see what is new and what everybody is baking. I cannot wait for the Dinner Doctor book. Happy baking everybody!

Hi all,

I am Jennifer and I live in Rochester, NY where we had 160" of snow last year. This is important because I was born in Atlanta and grew up in Florida. We have been here for seven years. I am learning that although I "thought" that I wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder, I am really a closer match to Scarlett O'Hara. :)
I have been married for almost nine years (I'm 33) to a great guy and we have a little boy who will be four in December. I have been home with him since he was born and I was a pharmaceutical rep before that. I enjoy baking and cooking. I also got into canning some this summer.
Some Cake Mix Doctor favorites are:

Darn Good Chocolate Cake
Chocolate Covered Cherry Cake
Amaretto Cake
Almond Cream Cheese Pound Cake
Harvest Cake? (I think this was a newsletter cake)

I am looking forward to Dinner Doctor and getting to know all of you!

Jenn
