Sour Pickles

I'm not familiar with sour pickles? Is it the same as kosher pickles? I've gone to 4 stores and can't find sour pickles.

I think sour pickles are dill pickles. Think the opposite of sweet pickles.

I don't think Sour Pickles mean dill...I come from New York, and since I moved out to Washington state, I have not been able to find good sour pickles. I have found some passable Kosher Dill pickles made by Claussen and kept in the refridgerated case.

The best way I know to get authentic sour pickles is to check the internet for some of the shops on the lower East side of manhattan. They will ship out a jar of pickles quite reasonably.

I did some checking and am not satisfied totally with what I found, but I really think sour pickles are different. Dill are dill and, like I said, I'm not sure, but it seems to me sour pickles have a distinct taste characteristic of only the sour pickles.

Yes, it is correct that sour pickles are definitely not at all like dill pickles. Usually you can find the sour pickles in the refrigerated appetizing section of a supermarket, and dill pickles are usually in jars on regular shelves. I don't know how to help you find sour pickles, but if you want them to eat, they are not like dill. If you want to use them in a recipe, depending on the recipe, you might be able to substitute successfully.
