Hi

I found a new cookbook at Amazon a few days ago. I ordered it and it just arrived.

Twinkie Cookbook

The recipes in the book use store-bought Twinkies, but now I have recipes that I can use with my Twinkie pan. This could be fun! :D

Sounds interesting. I wish there was a table on contents listed on the website for a sneak.

Let us know what all you make George.

There was a review of the book on the Amazon site. I agree with the reviewer that "Pigs in a Twinkie" is probably one to avoid. I suppose I could make cornbread in the Twinkie pan and stuff those with sausage. Here is a partial list of recipes that I might try.

Deep Fried Twinkies with Raspberry Sauce

Fried Twinkie with Chocolate Sauce

Chocolate Twinkie Trifle

Twinkie Eclair

Twinkie Petits Fours

Twinkie Banana Split

Twinkie Grasshopper

Twinkie Lasagna

Trifle in the Twinkie of an Eye

Twinkie-Misu

Mercy! I believe I gained a couple of pounds reading your list, George!! I have never had an actual Twinkie, but do you think you could make some of those with cake, maybe sponge or angel food? I adore tiramisu...making it with Twinkies is intriguing! Can't wait to read your reviews!!!

I havn't tried any Twinkies recipes yet, but the book lists a website:

Twinkies!

The website has recipes, some of them from the book. It also has recipes using Ding Dongs, HoHos, and Hostess Cupcakes.

I was searching for the easy tiramisu recipe featured on Everyday Cooks and ran into this. Not sure if this replicates any recipe in George's book, but it looks interesting and on topic.

Barbara,

The recipe in the book is different. Even the recipe on the Hostess website is different. They all use Twinkies and coffee, but are different otherwise. The one in the book uses pudding mix, milk, Amaretto, Kahlua, frozen whipped topping and a couple of other ingredients that I don't remember. I wish I could post it, but it is copyrighted. So we know of 3 different recipes. PM me if you would like the one I have.

All,

For those who are intrigued, love Twinkies, own the book or all of the above, check out this recipe (w/pics)for Twinkie Tunnel Cake inspired by a recipe in the book.

Note, this fantastic blog is by the woman who is the most recent Pillsbury $1Milllion Dollar winner. Lots of great pics of all her treats.

I am NOT a Twinkie (etc. etc. etc.) fan - so have not tried any of those recipes.

However, T.Martin, I DON'T think the recipe in Anna's blog is HER recipe - I believe she says something like 'I wish I'd thought of it' .. and she made it then and posted pictures and made comments.
She may well have entered - and have a recipe in the book --- I know several of my friends do.

These are things I'd like one bite of.........but somehow I NEVER got to like those little single wrapped up 'thingies'! And so many of you just love 'em.
