Aunty Em, come on join me - we can take turns in the recliner. I have a nice furry cat to keep my lap warm. We might have to play referee between her and the dogs.
DH got ham, sweet potato souffle, garlic mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. I did make a pecan pie today and then rested afterward.
I actually cooked supper for the first time tonight and guess what I fixed - yep, PORK CHOPS. Made my pork chop skillet where you brown the pork chops (dusted with flour), layer thinly sliced onions and potatoes on top and pour a can of chicken broth. Put a lid on and let it simmer. Comfort food. DH warmed up a can of veggies to go with it.
One of my mother's friends makes that pineapple casserole all the time for pot luck events. I have never developed a taste for it myself, but many do seem to like it.
As it turns out, my mother is going to be here tomorrow with us. She's riding down with some friends (2 hour drive). The rest of the family flaked on her (excuse me - had conflicts and couldn't make it

). She's bringing chicken and dressing and requested my Jalapeno Cranberry Sauce. I've got it on the stove now. So not much to do tomorrow but warm up and get it on the table.
Yes, Mary, I'm pacing myself and not doing too much. I can tell when I need to get back to the recliner.
Hope you all have a Great Thanksgiving. Then we'll all be ready to start that Christmas Baking!
