Well, it's a cold icy day with snow in our future, so I stayed home & am making soup with the broth & pickins from the turkey breast I cooked last week. Funny, my sis is making soup today too, but veg beef. She's also expecting snow. I will dump the broth & turkey bits in the slow cooker & then start adding the "hard" vegs first. I have white & sweet potatoes, dried bean mix (a handful is all I add to homemade soup), turnip, carrot, celery, onion, cabbage, tomatoes, peas, corn, green beans-oh, and some noodles toward the end. I'd never had turkey soup until a friend made some, and it was so pretty & colorful that I'm looking forward to making my own. Then I'll "whomp" open a can of crescent rolls, and dinner will be served. What's everybody else got going?

I've got the crockpot working today. We'll be having chicken and dumplings tonight. :)

Well, last night my husband "cooked"..there were Domino's boxes on the stove when I got home from Christmas Tree practice. I have no clue what's going to be cooked tonight. We've had practice every night this week, with the performances this weekend...so I am "done!" I had the ingredients for Let the Kids Make Broccoli Cheese Soup out, but apparently the kids didn't want to!

Soup sounds good; however, I've sent DH off to work with soup every day this week. I make a big pot of Pasta E. Fagioli soup (Olive Garden Copy Cat recipe). So, he probably needs more for supper. Tonight, we're having Chinese Broccoli and Beef with Sesame Green Beans. Our cold weather is hitting tonight. I saw this recipe in a Magazine at the doctor's office the other day. I picked up some country ribs today to fix this for tomorrow, since I have to let the beans soak overnight. It sounded good and is a crock pot recipe.

It's a little warm here today for soup (64! In Maine! On teh last day of November!) so I will shortly be boiling some potatoes, browning some hamburg and onion, and putting together a shepherd's pie. One of DH's faves. Not one of mine, I prefer the ingredients separate on the plate. For some reason they don't taste good to me mixed together. Hmm, maybe I'll just make a small one for him and keep the rest alone for me. :)

It's very warm here...69 degrees at present and only going down to 60 overnight...way too warm to suit me for this time of year! Since we haven't had any in more than a month DH wanted homemade cheeseburgers topped with sliced tomato for dinner so in short order I'll be heading to the kitchen to shape the fresh ground beef into patties to prepare on the stovetop. We'll just have some baked beans on the side. I'm fairly certain for dessert DH will have the last piece of the Apple Spice Cake with the remaining warmed Caramel Sauce.

It will be a late supper here, but along with some smoked brisket on toast with lettuce, etc. good hot soup is just the very best thing for this miserable sleet/snowy weather. I really am about to starve to death though for just a cup of hot chocolate with some marshmallows on top, so before I go to bed tonight, I'm going to have that cup and just slowly sip and savor it. I have some Ghirardelli cocoa in the cupboard! Need I say more?
