substitution for marjoram?

Hi,
I have a recipe for a Canadian bacon & asparagus quiche that calls for dried marjoram, which I don't have & have never used before. Can anyone suggest a different spice that might be good in place of marjoram?

Hi Glutton!

Marjoram is a good spice for roasted potatoes as well, but there are several things you can use, and from the list of Topics here, under the Sticky titled, "Baking FAQ and Helpful Hints" you'll find this listed as "FOOD and SPICE SUBSTITUTIONS"

Those are useful links. I've already bookmarked those for future use, since I'm always having questions like this. Basil & thyme I have, so one of those should work in my recipe. I tried googling to find a substitution, but I guess I didn't choose the right search terms to bring back the right results.

Glutton, that's fine, but it's so much easier to just look right here on site under the Sticky. I know a lot of people don't realize it's there, but there are all kinds of tips under it, and I'm still adding things to both that one in the Cake Mix Doctor forum, and the one in the Dinner Doctor forum.
