So I made the Taco soup from DD for tailgaing at the Pats game yesterday. It was delicious! I am totally going to make it for the next time I host Tuesday dinner. Still at my parent's house and mom had all of the ingredients except for the taco seasoning... wasn't about to head to the store just for that.. so I used cayenne pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, cumin, and a pinch of cinnnamon (salt and pepper of course)

Served with shredded cheese on top and some cornbread. Everyone was raving about it. Perfect for a footballl game.

Catherine the Taco Soup is so good especially now, and with cornbread it's also very filling and satisfying. The fact it's an easy one is an added bonus! Have a great week. I sort of look forward to everything getting back to normal....whatever that is. :D

I've made this one, too, and it really is good! One of these days, when the temps drop again, I'll serve some up. Thanks for reminding me of this yummy one!

I'm going to make this again for Christmas Eve during the day... onced again the patriots are playing at 1 PM... I also want to make sure I have a hearty meal in me before I head to the family Christmas eve cocktail party... I am usually too busy talking to people to eat anything at the party.... and I have to make sure I can last through to midnight mass.

I can make the soup today and just reheat that day. I think my dad will like it as well - it will be a nice change for him.

Jen I know you have the book, but don't have time right now to do it. However, if someone else doesn't get it to you, let me know and I'll type it up after I get back this afternoon.

It's sitting in my inbox right now, thanks so much! Teach me to loan out my book.... She was desperate for some good recipes for when her inlaws came to stay, and I knew there were plenty of winners in there. I hope Santa brings her her own copy; I mentioned it to him on her behalf, heehee!

Great! Thanks for letting me know, Jen. :D I, too, got things to make that for one meal. One of my dils has made that before while she's here, and it's so good with either some crusty bread or cornbread. Add a salad if one likes, but I feel it's a pretty good light meal in itself.
