It uses a cake mix, 4 eggs, 2 sticks butter, 1 c water. I don't know if the cake mix is regular yellow cake or a yellow butter cake mix. Anyone have a recipe for this cake and knows which cake mix to buy, regular or butter. Thanks for your help !!!!

I have not heard of such a cake. With 1 cup of water, though, I'd guess it uses a yellow cake mix. I'll look around and see if I can find anything...

I have a wonderful recipe called:
Neighborhood so Easy Pound Cake.
1 box Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Golden cake mix
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 sticks margarine,melted
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla flavoring (I use 2 Tablespoons of Almond flavoring)
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Bake in a large bundt or angel food cake type(solid bottom) cake pan in a preheated 350 degree oven for 50-55 minutes.
Icing:
1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup water 1/2tsp flavoring
Bring all to a boil and brush on cake while hot.

I never use the icing and the cake is still wonderful. Duncan hines also makes a Chocolate Butter Recipe Golden mix and makes a great chocolate pound cake.
Enjoy,
Jerry Ann

This sounds like the ooey gooey butter cake that is in the new book! I made it this weekend. The crust is a yellow cake mix, one egg, and a stick of butter. The topping is cream cheese, 2 eggs, and powdered sugar. It is delicious!
