Anne’s Old-Fashioned Yellow Cake Mix
Put on your favorite apron, plug in the mixer, and get ready to bake some memories. I’ve dreamed of creating a yellow cake mix that gets its color from butter and eggs, not artificial colors, and its scent from Madagascar vanilla. Now this perfect, easy mix is a reality. Slather it with my Chocolate Buttercream Frosting, light the candles, and you will have my children’s favorite birthday cake.
Nothing Artificial
My cake mixes contain only the best ingredients (just 5 or 6 of them) with no additives, preservatives, or trans fats, but they cannot be called “all natural” because I use bleached flour. I think bleached flour is an essential ingredient in light cakes, so that is why it is in my mix.
How to make my cakes
For the yellow mix, add soft butter, warm milk, and eggs, as the package directions suggest. Blend 30 seconds on low speed of an electric mixer until the ingredients just come together. Then, increase the mixer speed to medium-high and blend 1 to 2 minutes, or until the batter is smooth. Pour into prepared layer pans, bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, and enjoy the fragrant aroma of butter and vanilla in your kitchen.
